What crosses a border

A market is a setting here, not a rewrite

Most salon software is built for one country and translated afterwards. These are the places where a second market usually breaks a product, and what each one is in ours.

One country, chosen once

Pick the country and seven things follow it: the currency, its symbol, how many decimal places it has, what the sales tax is called, what your registration is called, which day the week starts on and the dial code. Change the country later and all seven change together.

Tax as a rate, not a country

Every service, product and bill line carries its own rate in basis points, anywhere from nothing to a hundred percent. Two different rates on one bill need no special case, and a rate change is a number, not a release.

The identifier your invoice needs

One field, named by your country — GSTIN in India, TRN in the Emirates, BIN in Bangladesh, NTN in Pakistan, PAN in Nepal. You type the number; what it is called is not your problem. It prints on invoices once set.

Money written the way it is written there

Amounts are whole minor units end to end, never a float on an invoice. The decimal places come from the currency — three for the Omani rial — and the digit grouping from the locale, so a big number reads 1,29,679.37 in India and 129,679.37 everywhere else.

Time where the chair is

Each branch keeps its own timezone and its own opening hours, day by day. An appointment reminder tells the customer the time on that branch’s clock rather than head office’s.

A tax report shaped like a return

Taxable turnover and tax collected by month, plus taxable turnover grouped by the rate it was charged at — which is the shape a VAT or GST return asks for, rather than one total you have to take apart again.

The honest limit

One workspace is one country.

This section used to show a single set of books holding a Kathmandu branch in rupees and a Nagpur branch in rupees. It cannot. Country, currency and tax registration belong to the workspace; a chain that genuinely crosses a border runs one workspace each side, and we would rather say so here than let you find out in month two.

What a branch does carry

Its own name, address, phone, timezone and opening hours for each day of the week. Enough for a chain across one country, and enough for reminders that tell a customer the time on their salon’s clock.

What the workspace carries

The country, and everything the country decides — currency, symbol, decimal places, tax vocabulary, registration label, week start, dial code — plus the registration number itself.

Group

What a two-country group does

Runs a workspace per country, and consolidates outside the product. There is no cross-workspace roll-up yet. If that is the thing you need, tell us — it is a real gap, not a misunderstanding.

Within one country the machinery is genuinely done: branches, their clocks, their hours, per-line tax at any rate, money in whole minor units, and a tax report grouped the way a return asks for it. Across a border it is two logins and an accountant. That is the trade, stated once, here.

We sell into these and we support them from Nagpur — Mon–Sat, 10:00–19:00 IST. There is no desk in any of them, so there is no pin claiming one. What is on each card is not a brochure figure: it is what the product itself will do for a branch registered there, read from the same table that localises a real workspace.
