A Saturday week, everywhere it matters
The week start comes from the country, so rotas, weekly totals and comparisons all open on Saturday. This is the single most common thing imported software gets wrong in the Gulf, and it is wrong on every screen at once.
TRN on the invoice
The registration field is labelled TRN and prints once set — a tax invoice here is expected to carry it.
Chains across emirates, staff across languages
Branches carry their own address, phone and opening hours, and every name field is Unicode, so a team list spanning several languages stores as typed.

What gets the United Arab Emirates wrong
Every one of these is something a product built for somewhere else assumes, and every one of them is visible to your staff on the first day rather than to your accountant in month nine.
Saturday, not Sunday and not Monday
The Gulf week is a third pattern, and software offering only "Sunday or Monday" cannot express it. The product carries 0, 1 or 6, and the country picks.
Prices are quoted with tax in mind
Per-line rates let a zero-rated or exempt line sit on the same bill as a standard-rated one without a second invoice.
The dirham has no glyph most fonts agree on
The symbol falls back to the code, which is what a UAE invoice usually shows anyway. If you write it differently, the symbol is overridable per workspace.

No FTA e-invoicing integration
The UAE is standing up a Peppol-based electronic invoicing regime with phased mandates. This product produces invoices; it does not transmit them through an accredited service provider, and it will not for the foreseeable future.
Tax you pay is not tracked, only tax you charge
Expenses record a gross amount and no rate, so the software cannot tell you your input tax. The report gives you output tax properly — turnover and tax by month, and turnover grouped by rate — and your accountant supplies the other half.
Reports run on dates, not on your financial year
The product knows when your year opens and shows it, but nothing defaults to it yet. You pick the dates. That is a small annoyance where the year opens on 1 January and a real one where it does not.
One workspace is one country
Country, currency and registration belong to the workspace, not the branch. A group trading either side of a border runs one workspace each side and consolidates outside the product.
