What a workspace in Australia is set to before you touch it
Choose the country and the rest follows. None of these are typed in by you, and none of them are typed in by us either — they come from the same reference table the product uses to localise a live workspace.

Why it fits here
What this does for a salon in Australia
Three things that are true of this market specifically, rather than three things that would be true of anywhere.
Prices that already include GST
The price on a service is what the customer pays. An Australian workspace starts with "Prices include GST" switched on: the GST is taken out of each line, to the cent, and printed as "Includes GST" under the total on the invoice, the receipt and the till. An A$85 cut with A$5 off and an A$110 colour come to A$190.00, of which A$17.27 is GST.
A tax invoice that says so
With your ABN saved, the invoice is titled "Tax invoice" and shows the ABN and the GST. The ABN is checked against the ATO checksum as you save it, so a slipped digit never reaches a customer, and an ACN typed into that field is caught. From A$1,000 a sale has to name the customer, which is what the ATO asks of a tax invoice that size.
One client, one number
A number typed as 0412 345 678, +61 412 345 678 or (02) 9374 4000 is stored in one international form, so the same client is not entered twice, and searching "0412 345" still finds them.

What gets Australia wrong
Every one of these is something a product built for somewhere else assumes, and every one of them is visible to your staff on the first day rather than to your accountant in month nine.
Three time zones, five in summer
Each branch keeps its own zone — Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and the rest — so when New South Wales and Victoria move their clocks in October, a Brisbane branch does not move with them, and its diary stays on its own time.
The financial year opens on 1 July
Not in January. The product carries 1 July for Australia; see the limits below for what it does not yet do with it.
Dollars, written as dollars
Prices show as $85.00, the way your clients read them, rather than "A$" or "AUD" on every line. Money is held in whole cents, so a long day of tickets adds up to what is in the drawer.
Turnover by GST rate
StandardAUD
ReducedAUD
Zero-ratedAUD
Each line on a bill carries its own rate in basis points, so several rates on one ticket stay separable all the way to the report.

What it does not do here
The parts we are not going to pretend about
Nothing is illustrated in this section, because there is nothing here to sell. These are the reasons a salon in this market might be right to say no.
No BAS lodgement and no Single Touch Payroll
The tax summary gives you GST collected by month and by rate for your BAS, but nothing is lodged with the ATO from here. Payroll works out pay and commission, but it does not report through Single Touch Payroll or handle superannuation — keep your STP-enabled payroll for that.
Reminders by email, not text message
Our text-message provider covers Nepal only today, so an Australian salon sends booking reminders by email. We will say so here when +61 text messages work.
Card payments are recorded, not taken
A card, transfer or cash payment is recorded against the bill, so the books balance, but there is no card terminal or Stripe connection. Take the card on your own terminal as you do now.
Support runs on India and Nepal hours
The support desk is in Nagpur, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00 India time — mid-afternoon to late evening on the east coast. Nothing is answered overnight in Australia.
Tax you pay is not tracked, only tax you charge
Expenses record a gross amount and no rate, so the software cannot tell you your input tax. The report gives you output tax properly — turnover and tax by month, and turnover grouped by rate — and your accountant supplies the other half.
Reports run on dates, not on your financial year
The product knows when your year opens and shows it, but nothing defaults to it yet. You pick the dates. That is a small annoyance where the year opens on 1 January and a real one where it does not.
One workspace is one country
Country, currency and registration belong to the workspace, not the branch. A group trading either side of a border runs one workspace each side and consolidates outside the product.
Straight answers
Common questions about SaloonERP in Australia
Every answer here is also marked up for search engines. They are the same words either way — describing the product one way to a reader and another way to a crawler is the oldest trick on this list and we are not doing it.
Does SaloonERP work for salons in Australia?
Yes. Choosing Australia as the country sets the workspace to Australian Dollar (AUD) at 2 decimal places, names the sales tax "GST" and the registration "ABN", opens the week on Sunday and the financial year on 1 July. None of that is configuration you do yourself.
What tax does SaloonERP handle in Australia?
Every service, product and bill line carries its own rate in basis points, so several rates can appear on one ticket and the report groups taxable turnover by the rate it was charged at — the shape a GST return asks for. Your ABN is stored once and prints on invoices. Tax you pay to suppliers is not tracked.
Do you have an office in Australia?
No. Our two offices are in Nagpur and Kathmandu, and support for Australia runs from Nagpur. We would rather say that than imply a local team.
Is SaloonERP compliant with Australia's invoicing requirements?
No BAS lodgement and no Single Touch Payroll. The tax summary gives you GST collected by month and by rate for your BAS, but nothing is lodged with the ATO from here. Payroll works out pay and commission, but it does not report through Single Touch Payroll or handle superannuation — keep your STP-enabled payroll for that.
Can one SaloonERP account cover Australia and another country?
No. Country, currency and tax registration belong to the workspace rather than the branch, so a group trading either side of a border runs one workspace each side. Within Australia you can run as many branches as you like, each with its own address, phone, timezone and opening hours.
What does SaloonERP cost in Australia?
List prices are published in US dollars on our pricing page and start at $49 a month per branch, with a fourteen-day trial and no card required. Ask us for a quote in AUD and we will give you one.
Getting help
Supported from Nagpur
There is no desk in Australia. Support runs from our office in Nagpur, on its hours, and we would rather tell you that than imply a local team.
Salons, spas, barbershops, beauty parlours and nail bars in Australia all run the same way here — a chair, a queue, a bill and a till. Whatever it is called where you are, this is the same product.
