What a workspace in the United Kingdom is set to before you touch it
Choose the country and the rest follows. None of these are typed in by you, and none of them are typed in by us either — they come from the same reference table the product uses to localise a live workspace.

Why it fits here
What this does for a salon in the United Kingdom
Three things that are true of this market specifically, rather than three things that would be true of anywhere.
The 6th of April, carried correctly
Not the 1st, and not January. The country table holds the real date, which is more than most products built outside the UK manage.
Registered above the threshold, zero below it
Plenty of chair-renting and single-operator salons sit under the registration threshold. Tax per line defaults to zero, so the software does not force a VAT rate on a business that does not charge one.
Monday weeks and per-day opening hours
Both carried. A salon closed Mondays and open late Thursday is the norm rather than an exception, and opening hours are stored per day of the week.

Three different answers appear across the markets we serve — Sunday, Monday and Saturday — so the product stores the day rather than assuming it.

Where imported software breaks
What gets the United Kingdom wrong
Every one of these is something a product built for somewhere else assumes, and every one of them is visible to your staff on the first day rather than to your accountant in month nine.
Dates are not month-first
Every date renders in the reader’s own locale rather than a fixed format, so 09/03 is not silently the 3rd of September to one person and the 9th of March to another.
Chair rental is not employment
A stylist renting a chair is running their own business in your salon. The staff and commission model can express who earned what; how you account for the rent itself is outside the product.
The four nations differ on more than maps
Bank holidays are not uniform across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Opening hours are per branch and per day, so a closure is set where it happens.
Turnover by VAT rate

Zero-ratedGBP
Each line on a bill carries its own rate in basis points, so several rates on one ticket stay separable all the way to the report.

What it does not do here
The parts we are not going to pretend about
Nothing is illustrated in this section, because there is nothing here to sell. These are the reasons a salon in this market might be right to say no.
No Making Tax Digital submission
VAT-registered businesses must keep digital records and file through MTD-compatible software. This product is not MTD-recognised and does not file returns. It gives you the numbers; your bridging or accounting software files them.
Tax you pay is not tracked, only tax you charge
Expenses record a gross amount and no rate, so the software cannot tell you your input tax. The report gives you output tax properly — turnover and tax by month, and turnover grouped by rate — and your accountant supplies the other half.
Reports run on dates, not on your financial year
The product knows when your year opens and shows it, but nothing defaults to it yet. You pick the dates. That is a small annoyance where the year opens on 1 January and a real one where it does not.
One workspace is one country
Country, currency and registration belong to the workspace, not the branch. A group trading either side of a border runs one workspace each side and consolidates outside the product.
Straight answers
Common questions about SaloonERP in the United Kingdom
Every answer here is also marked up for search engines. They are the same words either way — describing the product one way to a reader and another way to a crawler is the oldest trick on this list and we are not doing it.
Does SaloonERP work for salons in United Kingdom?
Yes. Choosing the United Kingdom as the country sets the workspace to British Pound (GBP) at 2 decimal places, names the sales tax "VAT" and the registration "VAT number", opens the week on Monday and the financial year on 6 April. None of that is configuration you do yourself.
What tax does SaloonERP handle in United Kingdom?
Every service, product and bill line carries its own rate in basis points, so several rates can appear on one ticket and the report groups taxable turnover by the rate it was charged at — the shape a VAT return asks for. Your VAT number is stored once and prints on invoices. Tax you pay to suppliers is not tracked.
Do you have an office in United Kingdom?
No. Our two offices are in Nagpur and Kathmandu, and support for the United Kingdom runs from Nagpur. We would rather say that than imply a local team.
Is SaloonERP compliant with United Kingdom's invoicing requirements?
No Making Tax Digital submission. VAT-registered businesses must keep digital records and file through MTD-compatible software. This product is not MTD-recognised and does not file returns. It gives you the numbers; your bridging or accounting software files them.
Can one SaloonERP account cover United Kingdom and another country?
No. Country, currency and tax registration belong to the workspace rather than the branch, so a group trading either side of a border runs one workspace each side. Within the United Kingdom you can run as many branches as you like, each with its own address, phone, timezone and opening hours.
What does SaloonERP cost in United Kingdom?
List prices are published in Nepali rupees on our pricing page and start at Rs 2,500 a month, with a fourteen-day trial and no card required. Ask us for a quote in GBP and we will give you one.
Getting help
Supported from Nagpur
There is no desk in the United Kingdom. Support runs from our office in Nagpur, on its hours, and we would rather tell you that than imply a local team.
Salons, spas, barbershops, beauty parlours and nail bars in the United Kingdom all run the same way here — a chair, a queue, a bill and a till. Whatever it is called where you are, this is the same product.
