A customer finishes a colour and a treatment, pays part by card, part in cash, and asks to settle the rest next visit. A till that only takes one payment per bill leaves the front desk with a choice: record it wrong, or write it on paper. Both end in an evening of reconciling.
One line per tender
In SaloonERP a bill can take several payments: cash, card, wallet, gift card, credit. Each is its own line with its own amount. The drawer expects only the cash. The card total matches the card machine. Nobody has to divide anything at the end of the day.
Dues are a balance, not a mistake
When part of a bill is left to pay, the bill is marked partly paid and the customer carries a balance. Next time they visit, the balance is on screen, and paying it is one more payment line against the original bill. The report of money owed is simply the list of those balances.
Tips
Tips are captured per stylist and reported separately. They are not service revenue, and they should not inflate a stylist's commission or the salon's takings.
- 1Ring up the services and products.
- 2Add each payment as the customer makes it.
- 3Leave the rest as a balance if they will pay later.
- 4Close the drawer against the cash lines only.
